rear it's ugly head. This is from my post below. A common root cause issue of this engine is the horrible connectors on the EFI harness that use the spring clip as they are not weatherproof and in short amount of time, the copper contacts become corroded. What's worse is that corrosion travels up the wire. Without excellent contact many components don't work properly, and in turn the ECU can't regulate everything as it should, injectors and spark plugs can fire intermittently etc. The best way to deal with it is scrape as much off as possible with dental picks and miniature file. Next spray it with a good contact cleaner like this: [ [ http://www.mgchemicals.com/products/801b.html?PHPSESSID=e5b06c6917b2e0b630fe0fa7157d0f59 ] ] Short of the insanely expensive Pro-Gold, this is my favorite as it has creeping agents and it will go in up the wire core, plus it doesn't hurt plastic. Lastly, coat with dielectric grease to protect it. Pull the CAS, PTU, MAF, Coolant Temp Sensor, AAC, FICD, Air Regulator. Makes an incredible difference if the contacts are pristine.
